Designed for professionals with 2-5 years of relevant work experience and who aspire to work in the finance industry at associate level. Participants will undertake a program designed to refocus their career on the financial world.

The three-part CFA® exam entitles successful candidates to become a “CFA Charterholder”. A relevant number of sessions will allow the student to prepare the CFA® examination. The CFA® certificate has become a basic requirement for individuals who work as investment analysts, portfolio managers and other investment decision-makers employed by investment firms, banks, broker/dealers, investment companies, insurance companies and other agencies. The preparatory classes for the CFA® are optional on the Master in Advanced Finance.

The program employs a highly practical approach. You will not only be asked to assimilate knowledge, but also to apply it to financial markets, demonstrating your capacity to generate profits using your skills. You could also be required to select investment opportunities for private equity firms, analyze these opportunities, value them, and present a finance plan private equity investor. Additionally, our open sessions will bring the opportunity to meet industry experts from all the fields of finance, affording relevant contact with the business world.

To be considered for admission, a candidate must have successfully completed the following prior to submission:

• A Bachelor degree at an accredited college/university (or equivalent).
• GMAT* exam. The test result from this exam is a prerequisite for admission.
• An English language certificate is required for all non-native English-speaking applicants (100 ibt, 250 computer-based or 600 TOEFL**, 800 TOIEC, 7.5 IELTS or Cambridge Advanced). This requirement does not apply if you can demonstrate one of the following:
  • Two years work experience in an English speaking country
  • Undergraduate degree completed in English.
• A complete application for evaluation by the Admissions Committee, including all supporting documents.

The demanding nature of the Master in Advanced Finance means that the large number of applicants are subject to a rigorous selection process. The main objective of the admissions process is to select students with the highest potential.

Candidates pay a non-refundable application fee of 120€ to cover administrative costs.

The tuition fees for the Master in Advance Finance 2008 amount to €35,000 + €1,100 (contribution to the IE Business School Foundation).

Admission is valid for two years, allowing the successful applicant up to two years to reserve a place on an intake, thus allowing students to plan their experience. To reserve a place on the Master in Finance, intake students are required to make a deposit equivalent to 20% of the total program fees + the contribution to the IE Business School Foundation.
