Apply to the Master in Advanced Finance

Whether completed online or in paper, the application must be accompanied by the supporting documentation, which can be sent separately. See below for more information.

The application form provides the Admissions Committee with fundamental information when it comes to evaluating candidates. It is therefore essential that this provide detailed information on relevant academic and professional achievements, together with concerns, aspirations and motivations that could support your application. For either online or in writing applications, we will require official academic transcripts of university studies demonstrating degree awarded, which must be translated into English or Spanish, although the application must be filled in the English language. A completed application to IE's Master in Finance program consists of:.

• Completed application form in English.
• 3 Application Essays (250 - 500 words each).
• A one-page curriculum vitae/ resume.
• 2 letters of recommendation.
• Official university transcripts (certified translation into English or Spanish).
• Official score/results from the GMAT.
• Official English language certificate (where applicable).
• Copies of any supporting documents that you feel may contribute to your application (as applicable).
• Application fee, €120.
• Copy of current passport or Spanish ID card
• 1 passport-size photo.

IE Business School will verify application information as needed and reserves the right to deny candidates admission at any point of the application process if a discrepancy between the self-reported information and information provided through verification is noted.

Supporting Documentation

Aside from the application form those are documentation which supports and compliments your candidature. This documentation consists of:

• 3 Application essays (250 - 500 words each).
• A one-page Curriculum Vitae / Resume.
• 2 Letters of recommendation.
• Official university transcripts (Certified translation into English or Spanish.)
• Official results of the GMAT. All candidates must submit results of the GMAT regardless of their previous experience or educational background.
  • GMAT These exams are designed to measure verbal and analytical skills as well as writing skills. Scores should be sent by the test administrator directly to IE. GMAT scores are valid for five years. GMAT is a test administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). You must have the results of one of these exams prior to submitting your application.
• Official English language certificate Students whose native language is not English will be required to present a certificate certifying that they will be able to follow a course conducted in English. For more details please consult the PDF. The following qualifications will be accepted as proof of an acceptable level of English and may be presented either at the beginning of or during the course.
  • 100 ibt, 250 computer-based or 600 TOEFL (IE reporting code: 0707)*
  • 800 IELTS
  • 7.5 TOIEC
  • Cambridge Advanced Certificate
  • A pass certificate for level five English from La Escuela Oficial de Idiomas.
  This qualification must have been obtained less than 2 years before starting the Master's program. *The TOEFL is a test administered by ETS. Test scores should be reported directly to IE.   • University studies fully completed in English

Application Deadlines

It is extremely important that you manage the timing of your application carefully and submit a complete application.

IE Business School operates on a ROLLING ADMISSIONS PROCESS. As such, there is NO EXPLICIT DEADLINE for applications for a particular intake.

However, given the limited number of places in the program and the diverse student body, we recommend that you initiate the application process as far in advance as possible, roughly one year in advance of the desired program intake. This is especially important if you plan on applying for a scholarship as only accepted students may apply for a scholarship..

Personal Interview

Once the application form has been assessed, candidates may be called to interview, which may be done, on campus, at an admissions event, or by phone should you be unable to see us in person. It is recommended the interview be conducted in person as it is an integral part of the admissions process.

The interview examines the data provided in the application in greater detail and determines whether the candidate's profile will stand him or her in good stead for the content and demands of the program.

The Admissions Committee's Decision

Following the interview, each application will be subject to a final review by the Admissions Committee, evaluating all aspects of each candidate as a whole.

Candidates will be notified of the Committee’s decision after this final review.

Admission is valid for two years and is granted to candidates on the basis that IE Business School considers that they have the right profile to achieve success in the program.

Admission does not automatically guarantee a place within the next intake; however to secure a place within a specific intake, the place reservation must be made. Please refer the Place Reservation section within Payment Information for more detail.
